“My father, Stuart Herskovitz, started Qosina because he saw an opportunity to fill a need that wasn’t being met in a growing industry. When I was growing up, he was gone for two weeks of every month trying to sell his idea and build the business. As I grew older and started my own career, his lessons and unsolicited advice weren’t always appreciated (as I am now experiencing with my own children), but thankfully, as my receptors for parental advice matured, the echoes of those conversations powerfully resonate. Three important lessons I learned from my father are:
- Work/life balance is very important, but if you want to achieve something truly great, you must put in the extra effort.
- From a sales perspective, ‘No’ just means ‘Not today.’ The world changes every day; yesterday’s rejection sets the stage for tomorrow’s collaboration.
- Be nice. Gratitude doesn’t cost anything but has tremendous value.”
