MGS said Knudsen Plast’s operations in Denmark and Slovakia will enhance the contract development and manufacturing organization’s ability to support customers across Europe. It brings expanded cleanroom capacity, deep injection molding expertise and greater proximity to regional supply chains.
“This acquisition is beneficial for both MGS and Knudsen Plast customers,” MGS President and CEO Paul Manley said in a news release. “MGS benefits from Knudsen Plast’s highly respected technical expertise, strong quality systems and a commitment to delivering innovations that improve lives. At the same time, Knudsen Plast customers benefit from MGS’ vertically integrated solutions across Design & Development, Tooling, Automation and Manufacturing. Together, we are better positioned to help leading healthcare innovators accelerate development, strengthen supply chains and scale production with confidence.”
Knudsen Plast is recognized for “delivering innovative, high-quality solutions that not only meet, but help shape rigorous quality standards alongside its customers,” MGS said.
MGS has 1,600 employees across 13 global facilities after this acquisition, which it said strengthens its position as a leading provider of end-to-end healthcare development and manufacturing solutions.
Enhancements brought on by the acquisition include expanded cleanroom molding capacity in Europe and enhanced supply chain resilience. The deal also increases access to healthcare-focused molding expertise, the company says, and adds new career and development opportunities for employees across companies.
The announcement comes not long after MGS announced the opening of a new drug delivery device manufacturing facility.
