LAKE FOREST, Ill., Aug. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ —
Microflex Corporation (Lake Forest, IL), a subsidiary of
BarrierSafe Solutions International® (BSSI), a leading provider
of latex and synthetic barrier protection products, is excited to
announce the certification of Supreno® SE standard cuff nitrile
disposable examination gloves under the NFPA (National Fire
Protection Association) 1999 Standard on Protective Clothing for
Emergency Medical Operations 2008 Edition.
The mission of the international nonprofit NFPA, established in
1896, is to reduce the worldwide burden of fire and other hazards
on the quality of life by providing and advocating consensus codes
and standards, research, training, and education.
The world’s leading advocate of fire prevention and an
authoritative source on public safety, NFPA develops, publishes,
and disseminates more than 300 consensus codes and standards
intended to minimize the possibility and effects of fire and other
risks.
“As a leader in the EMS/First Responder community we are able to
use our daily interactions with our customers to continue to
improve our understanding of evolving requirements for protection
and productivity,” said Kathy Zanzucchi, Director of Marketing.
“While for most high risk applications we continue to
recommend extended length gloves to assure the protection of the
provider, we have found in some instances a product that is easier
to quickly don and that is more cost effective is preferred.
These observations led to the development of a Microflex®
standard cuff NFPA glove option. As government departments
face budget constraints and in cases where appropriate, the
standard cuff Supreno® SE glove can protect both their
personnel and budget dollars. They don’t have to try to cut
corners on what matters most.”
Supreno® SE joins a list of other Microflex® latex and
nitrile products with NFPA certification. For more
