CHICAGO, June 29 /PRNewswire/ — Hamilton Park
Health Care Facility, a skilled nursing facility in Jersey City, New Jersey, has contracted
with Millennium Pharmacy Systems for pharmacy services to both
their Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living residents.
Traditional pharmacy services in the nursing homes environment
require a time-consuming manual process of managing medications.
However, Hamilton Park will now manage medications in a real-time
online environment using Millennium’s state of the art electronic
ordering application. Additionally, Millennium provides unique 3-
and 4-day packaging designed to reduce medication waste from
frequently changed or discontinued prescriptions common to nursing
facilities. Millennium will also install an on-site, secure,
medication cabinet to give Hamilton Park nurses immediate access to
medications needed for late night admissions and emergencies.
Hamilton Park will implement Millennium’s proprietary software
system using laptops attached to medication carts and eliminate
paper processing of documentation. This solution will drive online
ordering, verification and documentation of accurate
administration, and real-time reporting.
