Mitigating Electrical Risks Associated with Connectors and Cables in Medical Applications

Over the decade from 2008 to 2017, medical device failures or usage errors have been linked to more than 1.7 million injuries and nearly 83,000 deaths. This paper addresses one of these causes – electric shock hazards, specifically those related to electrical connectors and cables used for interconnecting medical equipment.
