MW Medical Solutions (Rosemont, Ill.) has expanded its capabilities when it comes to the machining of precision metal components, thanks to MW Industries’ acquisition of Marox earlier this year.
The acquisition of Marox (Holyoke, Mass.) in April complemented MW’s Illinois facility with increased spindle time of advanced Willemin machining centers. It also brought additive manufacturing capabilities to MW Medical Solutions, the company said yesterday on LinkedIn.
Marox is a maker of precision-machined orthopedic and spinal implants. It also manufactures components used on robotic surgery devices.
MW Industries in April also acquired Sussex Wire (Easton, Pa.) which uses cold-forming and roll-forming manufacturing techniques to shape metal wire and special alloys into micro-miniature components for medical device applications.
