SAN JOSE, Calif.–(BUSINESS
WIRE)–NDS Surgical Imaging (NDSsi) today introduced ScaleOR™, the
industrys first video scaling and formatting appliance designed
specifically for the healthcare environment. Providing universal video format
conversion, ScaleOR features a unique modular design to accommodate analog or
digital signals, giving the user the flexibility to choose the appropriate
input module specific to their needs.
“ScaleOR is another example of how NDSsi listens to its
customers and designs products to solve industry challenges and streamline OR
efficiency,” said Jens Ruppert, Vice President & General Manager, Surgical
Business Unit at NDSsi. “Until now, OR staff had to work with numerous devices
to deal with the signal complexities of video conversion and scaling. By using
interchangeable modules, ScaleOR provides an easy-to-use universal solution,
enabling multiple tasks from one compact device.”
Available input modules for the ScaleOR product are DVI-D, 3G-SDI, VGA/RGB/SOG, and
S-video/Composite. These modules are automatically detected by the base unit to
identify the incoming signal type. The input video is then converted and scaled
for up to three simultaneous output formats: 3G-SDI, DVI-D, and DVI over single
fiber. The scaled output format is compatible with HD monitors and other HD
equipment, and is selectable by the user via a dip-switch setting or
on-screen-display menu.
The user also has control over advanced features such as RGB
gain, brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, zoom, and scaling settings through
the on-screen-display menu. With IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60601 approvals, ScaleOR meets
the stringent electrical safety requirements of the surgical operating room and
similarly restrictive locations.
