Neuro Kinetics to Showcase Enhanced Control & Analysis Software at Otolaryngology Conference

September 22, 2010 By Bio-Medicine.Org

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ —  Neuro Kinetics, Inc.
(NKI) (www.neuro-kinetics.com),
manufacturers of noninvasive medical diagnostic equipment used
worldwide to test for vestibular and neurological conditions, said
today that it will demonstrate its recently enhanced VEST™
control and analysis software at the upcoming annual meeting of the
American Academy of Otolaryngology in Boston (http://am2010.entnet.org/).

NKI will be demonstrating the software on its I-Portal® VNG
(Video Nystagmography) system at booth #873.

Otolaryngologists and other clinical specialists use NKI’s VEST
software to conduct various vestibular, ocular-motor and
optokinetic tests that assess balance and central and peripheral
neurologic functions.

NKI recently released version 6.8 of the VEST software package.
The enhanced software improves the accuracy and breadth of various
tests that may be performed on NKI’s medical devices, including the
dynamic unilateral centrifugation test, various nystagmus detection
tests and smooth pursuit analysis.  VEST 6.8 also adds new
ease of use and improves data management options.

NKI also said that it will focus on expiring tax advantages
currently available to clinicians considering a purchase of capital
equipment, such as NKI’s medical devices.  For the remainder
of 2010, clinicians can deduct 100% of new business property up to
an annual ceiling amount. Next year, the percentage of capital
expenditures that can be deducted is likely to be reduced
significantly.

“With our ongoing quality enhancements to our devices and
software, coupled with the very real and dramatic tax benefits to
purchasing in 2010, we think otolaryngologists and others should
act now,” said J. Howison Schroeder, NKI president and CEO. “We are
excited to be exhibiting at the AAO conference in Boston as it will
give us the opportunit
