ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Feb. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — New
Mexico Software, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board:
NMXC), a developer of medical IT services and solutions that
enable improved and faster communication within the healthcare
community, announced today the company will begin providing second
opinion teleradiology interpretation for its customers.
CEO Dick Govatski said, “There is a solid market for patients
and their families who want a second opinion about their medical
issues. Even if just to confirm a condition that was previously
diagnosed, patients often want the reassurance that comes with
another professional review of an initial determination. This is a
self-pay system. We will accept a valid credit card for the
service. At this time most insurance companies do not provide for
second opinion reimbursement.”
“In addition to providing a written opinion and findings,
consultation with the reviewing doctors may also be arranged,”
Govatski said.
New Mexico Software is offering the remote second opinion
service to anyone with digital files as well as existing XR-Express
customers who provide telemedicine service to over 9,000 facilities
in the U.S.
“This is yet another critical step in fully utilizing the
telemedicine technology being developed by New Mexico Software,”
said Rafael Rubio, VP Product Development and Technology. “The
XR-EXpress platform is quickly becoming a leading service for
telemedicine companies by enabling x-rays, CT’s, echocardiograms,
EKGs, ultrasounds and other diagnostics to be read and interpreted
by qualified physicians at remote locations.”
