Nonin Medical launches next generation LifeSense II and RespSense II Capnographs

October 21, 2016 By Abigail Esposito

Nonin LifeSense II

The Nonin LifeSense II and RespSense II are value-priced monitors that are ideal for a wide range of medical monitoring applications where a stand-alone capnograph is desirable, including resuscitation, procedural sedation, pain management, post-anesthesia monitoring and sleep testing.

Nonin Medical, the inventor of finger pulse oximetry and a developer in noninvasive medical monitoring, announced it has launched the next generation of end-tidal CO2 monitors in the LifeSense II capnograph/pulse oximeter and RespSense II capnograph.

The Nonin LifeSense II and RespSense II are value-priced monitors that are ideal for a wide range of medical monitoring applications where a stand-alone capnograph is desirable, including resuscitation, procedural sedation, pain management, post-anesthesia monitoring and sleep testing.

“The LifeSense II and RespSense II, with their accuracy, ease of use, cost effectiveness and leading warranty, provide tremendous value for a variety of applications and markets; including hospital, homecare, sleep labs and EMS,” said Jill Wroblewski, senior director of marketing at Nonin Medical.

With both devices, clinicians have first-breath detection of respiratory rate and end-tidal CO2 (EtCO2). In addition, the LifeSense II adds Nonin’s proven PureSAT SpO2 technology which uses intelligent pulse-by-pulse filtering to provide precise oximetry measurements. They offer key benefits over first-generation LifeSense and RespSense products with a larger display, internal memory with USB and multiple settings options, among many others.

“We chose Nonin capnography products because they best met our criteria for construction, graphics and portability, warranty policies and consumables pricing,” said Pamela S. Lindemann, MA RRT RCP, head of the respiratory therapy department at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Ill.

Nonin LifeSense II and RespSense II product highlights include:

  • Fast and accurate first-breath technology
  • Meets rigorous ISO requirements for EMS transport
  • Trending of measured parameters
  • Easy-to-use, large 7 in (17 cm), color touchscreen display
  • 36-hour internal memory with USB port
  • Configurable selections for language, units of measurement and alarms
  • 3-year warranty

The Nonin LifeSense II and RespSense II will launch in the U.S. and be on display at the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) Congress, through October 18, 2016 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.
