Numotion has announced a partnership with SoftWheel to be the exclusive distributor of its in-wheel suspension technology for wheelchairs in the United States. The technology enhances user-ride capabilities, providing rigidity and stability for manual wheelchair users, effectively reducing the level of daily pain and discomfort that can result from wheelchair use. SoftWheel by Numotion products will be available to U.S. consumers in September of 2016 via the Numotion online store.
“The SoftWheel by Numotion in-wheel suspension technology helps manage pain for users by reducing the severity of impact forces experienced by the user as they propel through varied terrain,” said Mike Swinford, CEO of Numotion. “This ultimately reduces user fatigue and increases comfort.”
Research shows that wheelchair users are routinely exposed to levels of vibration and impact forces that exceed even ISO Standards for industrial occupations. This exposure can result in negative health impacts ranging from muscle fatigue and pain, to back and neck injury. The SoftWheel by Numotion in-wheel suspension technology allows for a significant reduction in impact forces and vibration incurred by the manual wheelchair user.
SoftWheel’s integrated suspension technology has been on the market since 2014, helping provide users in more than 15 countries the freedom to go everywhere.
