NxPhase Medical – spun out of NxThera when Boston Scientific bought it this year– has raised more than $10 million, according to a recent U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
Maple Grove, Minn.–based NxPhase is focused on using convective thermal water vapor to treat prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer, according to its LinkedIn page. And SEC Form D dated Nov. 29 says it is seeking to raise more than $18 million in its present money-raise.
NxThera’s Rezūm benign prostatic hyperplasia device uses steam to ablate excess prostate tissue. Boston Scientific closed on its $406 million acquisition of NxThera in April. The deal included the spin out of NxPhase, a new company to commercialize technology for treating cancer.
