Olympus is the first surgical product manufacturer to offer this type of guarantee. The service became available to customers with an Olympus Full Service Agreement earlier this year.

The Olympus Uptime Guarantee helps achieve these goals by minimizing the number of canceled procedures resulting from out-of-service equipment.”
Olympus’ Full Service Agreement provides customers complete repair coverage, including accidental damage, with no cap for contracted equipment. The Olympus Uptime Guarantee joins the existing array of benefits including 24/7 technical phone support, on-site field support, the convenience of a single purchase order good for the length of the service contract and more. Next-day replacement guarantees equipment is readily available for customers so they can return to patient care quickly, without reducing valuable time Olympus uses to repair equipment safely.
“One of the main advantages I see in using Olympus’ Uptime Guarantee is with the 24-hour turnaround time. We wouldn’t have to maintain as large of an inventory to meet our needs,” said Robert Ward, perioperative equipment resource specialist at St. John Hospital. “The fast turnaround would increase productivity; we would not need to wait on loaners or increase inventory to meet the demand. With the charge only for the repair instead of a replacement cost, this could equate to savings in the long run.”
To take advantage of the Olympus Uptime Guarantee, customers must have active Full Service Agreement coverage starting on or after January 1, 2015 for products on Olympus’ current Uptime Guarantee product list. Equipment in need of service must be reported to the Olympus Service Center between Monday and Friday by 8:00 p.m. EST to ensure delivery the next business day.
