Orchid Orthopedic Solutions has promoted Jerry Jurkiewicz to the CEO spot.
Jurkiewicz, the company’s former chief operating officer and president, replaces Mike Miller, who retired on Dec. 30. Miller is now the vice chairman of the company’s board of directors.
Jurkiewicz joined Orchid as president and COO in 2016 after having been president of Optics and Photonics at IDEX Corporation and holding two other CEO roles.
On top of the new CEO, Orchid is also changing its commercial and operating structure.
“Orchid has also reorganized to support and accelerate progress on its most important strategic initiatives,” Jurkiewicz said. “Mark Burba has been promoted to the role of chief operating officer. In his new role, he will have global responsibility for driving operational excellence by implementing world-class processes with a focus on quality and delivery improvements. Matt Burba has been promoted to the newly created role of chief commercial officer. In his global role, he will be leading all growth functions with a focus on driving unparalleled customer service and seamless product launch.”
Miller became Orchid’s CEO in 2005. Company officials credit Miller with helping to establish Orchid as an important supplier in the orthopedic industry. He also introduced near-net forging to the orthopedic industry.
“There are so many incredible people that have contributed to the success of Orchid and helped grow our business to fulfill a vision that began so many years ago,” Miller said. “So many more people have joined us on this journey throughout the years, making it possible for Orchid to take new and important steps in meeting our customers’ needs along with maintaining an environment of creativity, innovation and drive.”
