Boston-based Performance Motion Devices announced today that it has become one of the first in the motion control industry to achieve medical device ISO 13485:2016 certification.
The certification covers all of its facilities, both U.S.-based and international. Performance Motion Devices, which also designs and manufactures motion-control technology for robotics and industrial applications, can now offer medical device and lab automation engineering solutions that are tailored to address project-specific needs.
“Today’s high performance motion control solutions require the utmost attention to detail and quality control,” said CEO Chuck Lewin in a news release. “We are proud to have achieved ISO 13485:2016 certification in support of our goal to provide the very highest standards of product quality and performance to our worldwide community of motion control customers in the life sciences, laboratory automation, and medical research space.”
