Phihong has released a new 36W medical grade wall-plug adapter designed for use in minimally invasive, bodily floating medical applied parts.
Phihong, a global supplier of OEM power solutions, has released a new 36W medical grade wall-plug adapter designed for use in minimally invasive, bodily floating medical applied parts that have conductive, medium-term or long-term contact with patients, including: ventilators, workstations, patient monitoring equipment and ultrasound machines.
A limited power source with output leakage of less than 100 μA at 264 VAC/50 Hz, Phihong’s new 36W medical wall-plug adapter is rated for 115 to 230 VAC input and 12 VDC output, and it is available with interchangeable plugs for international compatibility.
Designated the PMA36R-120, the new adapter is compliant with several international standards for the safety and effectiveness of medical electrical equipment published by the International Electromechanical Commission (IEC), including: IEC60601-1-2 Ed4 2014, which addresses electromagnetic disturbances, requirements and tests, and IEC60601-1:2005+A:2012 2xMOPP, which regulates means of patient protection, ensuring a minimum of 4,000 VAC isolation, 8 mm creepage and double insulation.
The 36W medical grade wall-plug adapter is also compliant with both U.S. Department of Energy Level VI and European Union Code of Conduct V Tier 2 energy efficiency standards, and certified to UL 60601-1, CE and RCM safety specifications.
The 36W PMA36R-120 medical grade wall-plug adapter features built-in over voltage, over-current, short-circuit, over-temperature and brown-in and brownout protections, and it is available with seven different AC input clips (each sold separately) for compatibility with electrical outlets in: the US, Brazil, Europe, Korea, the UK, Argentina and Australia.
Each adapter measures 106.5 mm (4.19 in.) by 51.5 mm (2.03 in.) by 38.5 mm (1.52 in.), weighs 220 g (7.76 oz), and has a 5.5 by 2.1 x 10 mm fork-and-groove DC plug with an inner (+V) and outer GND(-) plug pin assignment. Allowable operating temperatures for the adapter span 10° to 40° C with up to 90% relative humidity.
