A stent designed by W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. for the treatment of Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), has been approved by Health Canada. The stent is designed to be self-extending and features flexible biocompatible fluoropolymer interconnections. According to W.L. Gore & Associates, “The stent has been designed to weather biomechanical forces (extension, compression, flexion, and torsion) without fractures, even in the most complex anatomies.”
