Researchers from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have been developing a surgical technique that will allow amputees to receive sensory feedback, according to Anne Trafton.
This technique requires the user’s prosthetic limb, nerves, and muscle grafts.
It can also help to lower the rejection rate of prosthetics, which is currently at 20 percent.
