The new Maestro piston pump from Bio-Chem Fluidics delivers the longest life and best accuracy of any other pump in its category. The pump is capable of 10 million cycles with clean fluids, and 5 million cycles with aggressive or precipitating fluids.
Piston pumps, used in fluidics systems when the dispense accuracy of a diaphragm pump or peristaltic pump is insufficient, are prone to high failure rates. Typically found in IVD and similar low pressure applications, piston pumps generally depend upon a flushed seal chamber to maintain the piston in a wet environment. Pump failure happens when the seal fails, which occurs between 3 to 5 million cycles when working with clean fluids, even less with aggressive fluids.
The cost-effective Maestro piston pump uses an improved design with high tolerance components to deliver an extended lifetime. Rigorous testing has validated the pump’s performance at twice that of similar pumps.
Maestro is capable of moving between 500nL to 5000µL of liquids with up to 99.5% accuracy. The pump integrates easily with existing instruments, featuring drop-in replacement with no custom software required to drive Maestro stepper motors.
