Point Six Wireless joins the L-com brand family

January 19, 2016 By Andrew Zistler

lcomL-com Global Connectivity announced today that it has acquired the exclusive rights to manufacture and sell Point Six Wireless sensors on a global basis through a partnership with Point Six Wireless of Lexington, Kentucky.

Point Six Wireless designs industry-leading wireless sensors featuring both RF and IR technology. The company’s products are particularly well-suited to customized application-specific solutions and have been chosen by Fortune 500 OEMs and organizations across multiple market sectors to deliver wireless sensor solutions.

Point Six Wireless temperature and humidity sensors, CO2 sensors, data loggers, people-counting, and energy-monitoring sensors help organizations manage energy usage, optimize operations and meet regulatory compliance standards. BACnet and Modbus protocols are available for easy integration with Building Management Systems. The Point Six cloud services software, Point View, can monitor sensors, generate reports and send text and email alerts and alarms to any PC, tablet or smartphone.

“Point Six Wireless is an ‘Internet of Things’ pioneer and has an exceptional reputation for advanced technology and high-quality product design. We are excited to add this name to the L-com family of brands” said Jon Jensen, L-com’s President and CEO. “Our customers demand wireless sensors for their machine-to-machine communications requirements, and to drive efficiency and productivity in their businesses. With Point Six’s exceptional product offering and L-com’s strengths in manufacturing and go-to-market execution, we will meet this growing demand and deliver significant value for our customers. Point Six and L-com make an extremely powerful combination.”

“This is a great partnership because it allows each company to focus on its strengths,” said John Compton, President of Point Six Wireless. “Point Six will continue to develop new technology and innovative new products and L-com will successfully commercialize those products by manufacturing them in its state-of-the-art, ISO 9001:2008 and AS 9100C certified facilities, and by bringing them to market with its industry-leading sales and marketing organization. Both companies found the right partner.”

Manufacturing and distribution of most Point Six Wireless products has been successfully transferred to and launched at L-com’s Denton, Texas facility with the remainder to be completed by the end of January.
