Boston Scientific’s Watchman FLX is a left atrial appendage closure device that reduces the risk of stroke in non-valvular atrial fibrillation patients.

The device is implanted at or slightly distal to the opening of the left atrial appendage, which is the source of more than 90% of stroke-causing blood clots in patients with non-valvular AF, according to the company.

Watchman FLX is available in five different sizes ranging from 21 mm to 33 mm and is repositionable and recapturable. The device is reloaded into a delivery system and its one-size access sheath of 14 Fr outer diameter fits all devices.
