CINCINNATI – Prodigy, a full-service product development partner helping clients bring products to market with speed and precision, is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Eugene Chung as Chief Medical Officer (CMO). In this strategic role, Dr. Chung will guide clinical strategy across Prodigy’s MedTech portfolio, ensuring that device development is clinically informed, regulatory-ready, and aligned with unmet needs in patient care. He will also collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to accelerate the translation of clinical insights into impactful medical technologies and ensure the clinical safety of medical devices developed at Prodigy.

A nationally recognized expert in advanced heart failure and mechanical circulatory support, Dr. Chung brings decades of front-line clinical experience and a passion for innovation to his new role. As CMO, he will help Prodigy and its clients align engineering efforts with real-world clinical needs—ensuring medical technologies are not only groundbreaking, but also deeply relevant to patients, physicians, and health systems.

“Prodigy is where engineering excellence meets real-world impact, and I’m excited to be part of a team helping MedTech innovators stay focused on what matters most—improving lives,” said Dr. Chung. “In this role, I look forward to amplifying Prodigy’s thought leadership and supporting clients as they navigate the path from concept to care.”

“Dr. Chung’s impact will be felt well beyond engineering,” said Kyle Lehr, President at Prodigy. “He brings the clinical insight and industry credibility that helps our team—and our clients—stay connected to the end user. His presence will elevate our storytelling, sharpen our strategic focus, and reinforce Prodigy’s role as a trusted partner in the medical device space.”

Dr. Chung currently serves as an advanced heart failure Cardiologist, Director of Outreach and Innovation, and is the immediate past Director and Chief of Cardiology at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. A graduate of Yale University and the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Dr. Chung trained in Internal Medicine at Mt. Sinai in New York City, Cardiovascular Medicine at UMass and in Transplant Cardiology at Columbia University. He has spent his career advancing care through research, innovation, and a deep commitment to patients.
