Herman “Herm” Edwards, a former National Football League (“NFL”) coach, player and now current ESPN NFL analyst and renowned motivational speaker, will discuss teamwork and leadership with Pulse’s clients during its annual user conference.
Pulse’s User Group meetings, also referred to as “PUG,” deliver key industry knowledge and information to Pulse’s clients about popular topics in healthcare information technology, including ICD-10 and Meaningful Use. The sessions teach beginning, intermediate and advanced users more about utilizing Pulse’s award winning Practice Management and 2014 certified complete EHR solutions, as well as how to leverage Pulse’s billing and collections expertise with its Revenue Cycle Management services. PUG 2014 will also feature a new products showcase that will give Pulse clients a sneak peak of its ICD-10 and Meaningful Use Stage 2 ready Practice Management and complete EHR solutions, new ePrescribing module, new patient portal, patient kiosk and robust reporting system, called Pulse IQ.
As a part of his discussion, Edwards will share his views and experiences about teamwork and leadership and how those concepts can be directly applied to physician practices and office teams, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the patient experience. Edwards is often recognized for his memorable expressions such as his “You play to win the game!” remarks that he delivered during a New York Jets press conference, which later became the title of his book, an inspirational collection of leadership lessons.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have Herm Edwards as the headline speaker at our 2014 User Group Meetings,” said Samuel S. Ambrose, Chief Marketing Officer for Pulse Systems. “One of our goals at Pulse is to deliver useful tips and information to our clients. We help our clients get the tools they need and further enable each to deliver better patient care and better practice management. Having Herm share his invaluable experiences as a player and coach, and translating his inspirational messages about teamwork and leadership will help our clients further realize how important these concepts are and how they can use them to improve the patient experiences they deliver each day.”
“Cohesive leadership and teamwork are important elements in any organization, but especially in medical practices where specific actions and decisions, as well as people working together towards common goals, play such vital roles in the delivery of health care,” said Herm Edwards.
Edwards most recently coached the Kansas City Chiefs (2006-2008), and the New York Jets (2001-2005). As an NFL player, Edwards played the position of cornerback for 10 seasons (1977–1986) with the Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams and Atlanta Falcons.
