Ra Medical (NYSE:RMED) today announced the launch of the next generation of its Pharos excimer lasers, designed to provide faster treatments for psoriasis, vitiligo, and atopic dermatitis.
Pharos Optimized also offers longer peak performance and a new ergonomic handpiece for operator comfort and greater treatment-site visibility, according to the Carlsbad, Calif.-based company. Pharos is the only excimer laser to feature integrated adjustable aiming and laser beams to deliver precisely targeted treatments that spare healthy tissue, Ra Medical added. The laser’s small footprint can save treatment room floor space.
“The optimized Pharos is a next-generation laser that delivers what dermatologists have been asking for: faster treatments for psoriasis, vitiligo, and atopic dermatitis and an upgraded user and patient experience,” said Ra Medical CEO Dean Irwin in a news release.
The company is debuting Pharos Optimized this weekend at the 2019 American Academy of Dermatology Summer Meeting in New York.
