Guilford, Connecticut-based RAM designed its power supply to comply with a range of safety approvals. This includes EN 60601-1 3.2, EN61000, and EN55011. It meets 2 x MOPP (Means of Patient Protection) and is ATX 3.0 compliant.
RAM’s PFC650SFX features the company’s MultiLoop technology and the latest silicon carbide (SiC) technology. It offers more than 500,000 hours of mean time between failures (MTBF) and more than eight years of expected life. The power supply comes with a choice of outputs, including the 12VHPWR PCIe 5.0 connector. That’s used for high-end medical imaging applications.
The supply is made in the U.S. and is pending UL approval. RAM offers it direct from the factory.
‘Medical device engineers are always looking for ways to reduce the size of their products,” said Greg Tuers, president of RAM Technologies. “Our new 650-watt power supply is in the compact SFX while still meeting 60601-1 safety standards for medical devices.”
