Resonetics and Meraqi Medical said today that they have formed a strategic alliance that combines Meraqi’s design, development, and finished device assembly expertise with component and sub-assembly manufacturing expertise at Resonetics.
The companies — which both focus on high-growth areas of the medical device market including bioelectronics, interventional, structural heart, and neurovascular — already have a track record cooperating on products over the years.
“We have embraced innovation and speed as critical components to our success”, Tom Burns, Resonetics’ president & CEO, said in a news release.
“Meraqi has a similar mantra and with this strategic alliance, we will now make it easier for our customers to access proven design, development and manufacturing capabilities. We know how important speed to market and design for manufacturability are to our customers, and they will appreciate the innovative and customer centric approach at Meraqi,” Burns said.
Meraqi Medical CEO Al Hershey noted that the company may be young but its team has decades of experience.
The two companies will stay independent; the strategic alliance is about utilizing combined capabilities where appropriate. Meraqi is headquartered in Fremont, Calif. Resonetics is headquartered in Nashua, N.H., with sites in California, New England, the Midwest, Costa
Rica and Europe.
