How to retain the best medical sales talent

March 14, 2016 By Nic Abraham

jobsat_headerYour employees are happy — you know because you’ve asked them. But even though they say they’re happy, it’s not enough to keep them around. Your employees are looking for new opportunities, and you don’t know how to make them stay.

This situation is more common than you think. In fact, a survey conducted by MedReps, a job board for medical sales representatives, found that although 72 percent of medical sales reps are satisfied with their job, 47 percent may leave their job this year.

Why? MedReps set out to find the answer. This infographic shows what medical sales professionals think are the best and worst parts about their job and what could be causing them to jump ship.

Some key points include:

  • Sales reps love their relationships with providers and patients most about their current medical sales job.
  • Autonomy and flexibility, the ability to make an impact, colleagues, and the product rounded out the top five things medical sales reps love most about their jobs.
  • Management and leadership was rated as the worst part about their current job.
  • Money, travel, work/life balance, and administrative tasks were among the top five things reps dislike about their jobs.

Check out the full infographic here to see what keeps medical sales reps happy and what makes them look for new jobs.
