Schott Primoceler announced today that it has received ISO 9001 certification at its Tampere, Finland, headquarters.
Mainz, Germany-based Schott bought Primoceler and its hermetic packaging portfolio with glass micro-bonding technology in 2018. Primoceler’s glass bonding method is based on laser technology and does not need heat or added materials. It allows for device packaging for sensitive electronics made with only transparent materials, such as glass.
With over one million certifications globally, ISO9001 is one of the most recognized and well-established quality management systems in the world. The standard focuses on improvements to internal processes to meet customer needs as well as regulatory requirements.
“We are very happy to share with our customers and stakeholders that Schott Primoceler has received the 9001 certification,” said Ville Hevonkorpi, managing director of Schott Primoceler in Tampere, in a news release. “This was a full team effort that was enabled by an existing prioritization of quality in all that we do in our facility.”
