Schurter said today that it offers high-performance AC connectors, circuit protection, switches and EMC products to safely and reliably optimize performance for critically needed COVID-19 medical devices, including ventilators, respirators, diagnostic, therapeutic and laboratory equipment.
The DG12 series power entry modules integrate an IEC inlet, EMC filter and rocker-style circuit breaker with optional IP67 protection, making them suitable for use in environments exposed to splashing water. They are IEC-rated up to 10 A at 250 VAC and UL/CSA rated up to 15 A at 125/250 VAC. The power entry modules feature a standard or low-leakage mains filter as well as standard or higher inductive performance options, along with a recessed 2-pole ON/OFF rocker switch circuit breaker with 1- or 2-pole overcurrent protection. The compact design consolidates discrete power components into one space-saving unit, according to the Santa Rosa, Calif.-based U.S. branch of the Swiss company.
Schurter also offers the miniature circuit breaker, TA35 series, as a standalone component. The series is available in 1-, 2- or 3-pole options. Finely graduated rated currents are available from 0.05 A to 20 A for 1-pole and 2-pole circuit breakers, and 0.05 A to 12 A for 3-pole circuit breakers. The optional protective cover offers an IP 65 degree of protection.
Schurter’s filtered power entry modules are available with medical low-leakage filters. Connectors mate with cord sets using the V-Lock cord retention system for unintentional disconnection. The company also just released the new 4783, rewireable IEC C13 appliance inlet in black, white or grey for short builds of varying cable lengths and plugs.
The medical components portfolio also includes metal line switches resistant to harsh cleaning processes with seal protection up to IP69K, high-performance SMD fuses that withstand pulse and inrush currents as well as wide temperature variations. Products carry country-specific approvals such as VDE/ENEC, UL/CSA and CCC.
