Sensirion recently unveiled its SFM4200 digital mass flow meter that is designed to be used for gas mixing in medtech applications.

The SFM4200 has a high pressure resistance that can be operated at pressures of up to 8 bar pressure. It can also measure flow rates up to 160 slm with a rapid signal processing time of 0.5 ms and measure air, oxygen and other non-corrosive gases.

Sensirion’s newest flow meter is most suitable to be used in high-volume medical applications like oxygen gas mixing in respiratory applications.

SFM4200 can operate using a 5V supply voltage and uses a digital two-wire I2C interface. Measurements from the flow meter are internally linearized and temperature compensated, according to the company.
