Photos of the Day: Monitoring Muscles with ‘Smart Shorts’
Mbody is the first smart textile in the world that enables the user to measure muscle activity in a manner similar to a heart rate monitor. Thanks to Mbody, now we’ll have access to entirely new information about muscle load, performance technique, muscle balance, the efficiency and intensity of muscle work.
The primary target group of Mbody is athletes and sports enthusiasts aiming at improving their own athletic performances.
There are many fields of application for Myontec’s innovation. In addition to sports and exercise, it can be applied also to rehabilitation, ergonomics, gaming industry, medicine, and even military and space industry.
“We believe the market of muscle measurement will become even greater than that of heart rate monitoring. It is flattering when companies such as Adidas, Intel and Orange seek cooperation with us,” said Mr. Pekka Tolvanen, Myontec’s CEO.
