Solar Atmospheres has named Roger Jones as its CEO emeritus as he announced his semi-retirement as the company’s CEO.
Jones has 45 years of leadership and vacuum heat treating experience. He helped found the company in 1983 and served as VP until 1993. He was promoted to president in 2001 and CEO in June 2017 where he oversaw operations of all four of the company’s heat-treating facilities.
Jones is a member of several professional societies and has received numerous industry awards from the American Society of Materials and the Metal Treating Institute. He has also been recognized for his commitment and service to the vacuum heat treating industry.
The title of emeritus is awarded to people – especially college professors – who have retired but are allowed to retain their title as an honor.
Solar Atmospheres provides vacuum heat treating, brazing, carburizing, and nitriding for a variety of industry OEMs, including in the medical space.
