Southco is expanding its operations in Pune, India by adding on an additional 20,000 sq. ft. Construction is expected to begin this year.
The expansion will include an increased manufacturing footprint and an office area and will being new manufacturing technologies to India. The expansion will also support the Indian government’s “Make in India” initiative of producing more parts locally.

Having a sales and manufacturing presence in India enables us to respond to the specific needs of the Indian market,” Prakash John, general manager of Southco India, said. “With the completion of this expansion project, we are doubling our manufacturing footprint in India to ensure that Southco is in a strong position to continue to support the fantastic business growth in this region.”
Southco says it has had a lot of growth in India over the last five years and expects more growth as the Indian economy grows over the next 10 years. The company expects to double its employee count at the Pune facility as it continue to expand.
