Spartech announced today that John Inks has been promoted to CEO. Inks previously served as COO for the St. Louis-based manufacturer of engineered thermoplastics and custom packaging.
Inks has served in a variety of leadership roles at Spartech over the past 13 years, including finance, operations and commercial roles. He was promoted to VP of operations after the company’s 2017 divestiture from PolyOne. In 2019, Inks was promoted to COO, leading initiatives focused on improving profitability, service and quality.
“As chief operating officer for the past 18 months, John has demonstrated exceptional leadership while at the same time driving improvements in a collaborative manner across operations including safety, quality, service, supply chain, sourcing and profitability through operational excellence,” said Spartech executive chairman John Manzi in a news release. “I am pleased to expand his role and responsibilities with this change.”
Inks has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.
