A free webinar, “3D Printing for Surgical Devices and Medical Models,” sponsored by Stratasys will be streaming live on Friday, March 10 at 2:00 p.m. EDT.
3D printed surgical devices and medical models can help medical professionals deliver many benefits, including less time in the operating room, fewer post-operative complications and avoidance of unnecessary surgery. Dr. Rybicki, the Professor and Chair of Radiology at the University of Ottawa and Chief of Medical Imaging at The Ottawa Hospital is an early adopter of 3D printing and will share some of his insights on the technology.
In this webinar, hosted by Medical Design Technology, Dr. Rybicki will explore:
- The role of 3D printing in medicine, particularly in hospitals.
- Several models for hospital-based 3D printing programs.
- Current trends and future paths for 3D printing.
The video will also briefly touch on Stratasys’ work with 3D printing models of patients’ brains that can be used to plan and rehearse critical surgical procedures. An article which covers this work in greater detail will be featured in the March edition of Medical Design Technology.
