(SAI), a leading medical diagnostic instrument manufacturer and
information systems developer, today announced that Laboratory
Corporation of America® Holdings (LabCorp®) (NYSE:
LH) has signed a five-year agreement for Sysmex America, Inc.
to provide fully automated hematology systems for LabCorp’s primary
testing laboratories. Implementation of the systems has been
completed.

The hematology systems purchased by LabCorp include Sysmex
HST-N™ Hematology Automation Systems comprised of XE-Series
Automated Hematology Analyzers, Sysmex SP-1000i™
Automated Slidemaker/Stainers and Sysmex-distributed
CellaVision® DM96 Automated Digital Cell Morphology Systems.
Sysmex WAM™ Decision Support Software for the Clinical
Laboratory will bring rules-based intelligence to these automation
systems by consolidating data from these multiple instruments and
performing expert rules-based functions and results management.
The HST-N systems are linked to the AutoSorter II by Motoman,
Inc. The HST-N systems will also utilize Sysmex’s RU-10
Reagent Production System, specifically designed for the Commercial
Reference Laboratory, which prepares some of the required analyzer
reagents on site, on demand, to help balance inventory and reduce
storage space requirements.
