MUNDELEIN, Ill., July 27 /PRNewswire/ — Sysmex America,
Inc., a leading medical diagnostic instrument manufacturer and
information systems developer, today announced plans to debut its
expanded cell image analysis portfolio during this year’s American
Association of Clinical Chemistry’s (AACC) Annual Conference and
Clinical Lab Expo July 25 – 29 in
Anaheim, California. The
CellaVision® DM1200 and DM96 systems for the mid-size to larger
clinical laboratories and Medica’s EasyCell® assistant
for the smaller clinical laboratories will be exhibited at Sysmex’s
booth #4833.
The CellaVision® DM-Series locates, identifies, and
pre-classifies blood cells by means of automatic microscopy and
advanced image processing. Sysmex’s most recent CellaVision
addition to its hematology product offering is the CellaVision®
DM1200. The DM1200 opens up new ways of handling manual
differentials traditionally performed on a microscope by
automatically performing a preliminary differential count on
peripheral blood. The analyzer pre-classifies the white blood
cells, pre-characterizes parts of the red morphology and provides
functionality for platelet estimation. By automating the
manual differential, laboratories can experience enhanced
turnaround times without sacrificing quality. Its high degree
of automation allows for an escalating workload without additional
headcount. The CellaVision DM96 cell image analysis analyzer
supports high-volume laboratories and has been a part of the Sysmex
America hematology product offering since 2004.
The Medica EasyCell® assistant enables smaller
clinical laboratories to achieve greater detection and examination
of abnormal cells while providing more detailed imaging re
