TDK Corporation recently released its new XMS500 series of AC-DC power supplies that are rated at 500W output power and have a Class I and Class II construction.
The new power supplies series is compliant with curve B conducted and radiated emissions with a 6dB margin. It also has a low leakage current of less than 150µA. The XMS500 series is able to operate at full load with airflow rates of 1 m/s and are used in home healthcare, hospital, imaging and clinical diagnostic systems applications.
The series comes in a number of options including case styles, standby voltage, a 12V fixed or variable speed fan supply, remote on/off, AC fail and single or dual input fuses. It comes in 12V, 24V, 36V or 48V nominal outputs and has a five year warranty.
XMS500 is able to accept a 90 to 264Vac input and withstand 300Vac for five seconds. It is operable in temperatures up to 70°C and has a frame measurement of 102-by-180-by-37 mm. The U-channel is 107-by-180-by-39.5 mm.
The input to output isolation is 4000Vac, input to ground isolation is 1500Vac and output to ground isolation is 1500Vac for use in B and BF-rated equipment.
Each model is IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60601-1 and IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60950-1 certified and has CE mark approval. It is also EN 55011-B, EN 55032-B conducted and radiated emissions compliant, EN 61000-3-2 harmonics compliant, IEC 60601-1- 2 Edition 4 compliant and meets IEC 61000-4 immunity standards.
