TE Connectivity (TE) has introduced a longer, single position, low profile housing for use with the 110 series low profile Positive Lock receptacle and gas igniters. Electronic gas igniters are used on gas cooking ranges, gas grills and similar applications where a gas flame must be ignited. Gas igniter designs are not standardized across manufacturers, but they typically have one thing in common. They use .110 in. x .032 in. (2.8 mm x 0.8 mm) tabs within cavities or shrouds for electrical connections.
TE already offers a receptacle and housing specifically designed for this requirement, but a longer housing was needed for some applications. TE’s new housing is 1 in. (25.4 mm) long, while the existing housing is 0.78 in. (19.8 mm) long. The same Positive Lock receptacle is used with either housing.
This housing centers the receptacle for improved mating, provides insulation, improves ergonomics and accommodates the low insertion force, high retention force Positive Lock Mark III receptacle.
