Brookman joined Teknor Apex about 20 years ago after holding executive positions with other compounding companies, with a focus on vinyl technology. Brookman was in charge of the company’s vinyl and chemicals businesses before retiring in 2011, after which he continued as a consultant for the company.
“Drawing on his enormous business and scientific expertise, Bob played a key role in the global expansion of Teknor Apex, and even after his retirement, he was a coach and mentor to many of our employees. To all of us, he was a valued colleague and friend,” Teknor Apex CEO Jonathan D. Fain said in a news release,
Teknor Apex produces flexible and rigid vinyl, thermoplastic elastomers, nylons, color masterbatches, specialty chemicals, and hoses. Its materials, among other things, go into molded parts and components, tubing, film and bags, and cables and connectors for medical applications. The company operates 13 manufacturing plants in the United States, Belgium, Germany, China and Singapore.
