Theraclion (Malakoff, France) today announced wins when it comes to use of its echotherapy treatment in Germany and Hong Kong.
The Heilfürsorge Bundespolizei (medical insurance of the federal German police force) now covers echotherapy for both breast fibroadenomas and thyroid nodules.
“It is a strong mark of recognition for our technology that the German federal police force now joins the integrated care contract to cover all their officials,” said Anja Kleber, Theraclion’s VP of marketing and market access, in a news release. “This new contractual member is an additional step in the generalization of access to echotherapy.”
In other news, the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital, a major private hospital in China and Asia, has started to use echotherapy to treat patients with thyroid nodules.
Echotherapy combines high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) therapy and real-time ultrasound monitoring. Theraclion is marketing it as a viable alternative to surgery and to monitoring, enabling non-invasive and scar-free treatment of tumors (breast fibroadenomas and thyroid nodules).
