Each year, Medical Design & Outsourcing compiles a list of the top 100 medical device companies across the globe and ranks them based on annual revenue for the most recent fiscal year. We also consider research and development spending because it can indicate where innovation is taking place in the industry.
According to our analysis, the majority of the companies that spent the biggest percentage of their revenues on R&D were in the top quarter of the overall list, which is a big difference from last year when most of the biggest R&D spenders were in the bottom quarter of the overall list.
