Tobias Kuehnle will become the managing director of Trumpf Canada, effective April 1.
Kuehnle succeeds Stefan Fickenscher, who became the sales director of the machine tool division in the U.S. at Trumpf starting on Jan. 1. Fickenscher will be interim managing director of Trumpf Canada until Kuehnle takes over.
Kuehnle joined Trumpf in 2006, starting out in the service department. In 2015, he became the head of global services sales, and in July 2017, he took on the role as head of product management and sales support services.
“Tobias’ extensive experience within service management and his devotion to Trumpf’s customers make him an excellent choice for the position. Canada is a competitive market for Trumpf, and we’ll need a dedicated leader at the helm while we continue to expand the sales and technical services support we provide to customers in the country,” Burke Doar, SVP of Trumpf’s and Kuehnle’s direct report for the new position, said in a news release.
Trumpf among other things touts its lasers as ideal tools for cutting, welding and marking medical products.
