“Dr. Daft brings a wealth of experience in beamforming, silicon
integration and MEMS technology in the ultrasound industry,” said
Richard Tobias, VP of Engineering at Samplify. “His
experience will prove valuable not just in our next generation of

“What attracted me to Samplify was its system-level approach to
solving problems in the ultrasound signal chain,” said Dr. Daft.
“After evaluating their mixed-signal and beamforming
technologies, I became convinced that Samplify is uniquely
positioned to drive the next generation of silicon integration for
the ultrasound market. I am looking forward to contributing
to that vision.”
Prior to joining Samplify, Dr. Daft was Senior Manager and Key
Expert for Silicon Ultrasound at Siemens Healthcare, where he was

probes. Dr. Daft came to Siemens through the acquisition of
Sensant Corp., which was the early leader in MEMS technology for
capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducers (cMUTs).
Prior to that, Dr. Daft was a physicist at GE Research.
There, he was responsible for beamforming development for
GE’s premium line of ultrasound machines.
