US BioDesign Launches Cardiovascular Biomaterials Business Segment

January 18, 2012 By AxoGen, Inc.

PERKASIE, Pa.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–US BioDesign announced
today the launch of its cardiovascular biomaterials business segment. This
portion of US BioDesign will be responsible for the research, analysis and
production of products and services in the cardiovascular device area. This
includes OEM components for all cardiovascular products, including cardiac and
peripheral stents, vascular grafts and stent grafts, vascular access devices,
pacemakers, and accessory products for heart valves.

The U.S.
cardiovascular device market was $8.29 billion in 2007 and is expected to reach
$20.70 billion by 2014, which represents a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR)
of 14.5% from 2009 to 2014. The U.S.
cardiovascular biomaterial market was $3.43 billion in 2007 and is expected to
reach $7.74 billion in 2014 with a CAGR of 13% from 2009 to 2014.1

US
BioDesign is well situated to take full advantage of these rapidly growing
markets as a result of the world class research and development expertise of
its team and its ability to solve customers problems as biomedical engineers,
not textile engineers. US BioDesigns focus on the right medical construct
solution for its customers problems has resulted in a significant decrease in
its delivery timelines, which in turn has allowed customers to utilize US
BioDesigns components into their devices, quickly and efficiently, thus
shortening the overall development timelines.

“Time is money for our customers,” says US BioDesign CEO,
Tom Molz. “US
BioDesigns mission is to be the most effective OEM supplier of biomedical
textile structures in the industry and I am very pleased that we are having
quite a bit of initial success, especially in the cardiovascular area,” he
added.

About US BioDesign

US BioDesign is a global leader in biomedical textile structure components for
medical devices. US
BioDesign delivers the right solution to solve customer problems with unmatched
timeliness and efficiency as a result of its biomedical engineering expertise
and an unparalleled understanding of medical construct development involving

cardiovascular, orthopedic, general surgery and neurological device segment of
the health care industry.
