Vention video tutorials for how to use PET heat shrink tubing

June 16, 2015 By MDO Editor

Vention Medical has created an advanced polymer that generates countless possibilities and uses within the medical device world. These five short video tutorials (just 30-90 seconds each) demonstrate how to use PET heat shrink tubing, which combines incredible strength and durability with extremely thin walls.

PET heat shrink tubing can increase the rigidity and stability of your catheter shaft.

Vention's polyester heat shrink tubing is thin-walled, ultra-high-strength, optically clear or pigmented, and heat shrinkable.

Vention’s polyester heat shrink tubing is thin-walled, ultra-high-strength, optically clear or pigmented and heat shrinkable. These unique properties are made possible by a proprietary process developed exclusively by Vention Medical’s Advanced Polymers team.

The tubing can be used as is or heat shrunk for a variety of applications, using temperatures low enough to protect delicate components, yet high enough to achieve the desired result.

The ability to “draw down” the polyester heat shrink allows users to reduce the diameter of the tube by up to 70% while maintaining an ultra-thin wall and creating an ultra-high-strength tube. All of this can be done at temperatures as low as 70°C.
