The newly rebranded Viant is expanding its leadership team after completing the acquisition of Advanced Surgical and Orthopedics.
Viant, formerly known as MedPlast, has appointed former Medtronic executive Sean Crowley to chief operating officer. The company has also appointed former Integer executive Declan Smyth to group president of Advanced Surgical and Orthopedics.
Crowley has more than 20 years of experience in global operations and supply chain. Prior to joining Viant, he served as the VP of global operations for Medtronic’s Minimally Invasive Therapies Group. There, he was responsible for leading supply chain, engineering and manufacturing operations while supporting $7.5 billion of revenue and 29 manufacturing facilities. Crowley has also held a leadership role at Covidien and also worked in manufacturing and operational excellence for Xerox Corporation. He has also served as an officer in the U.S. Army.
Smyth has more than 15 years of experience in executive leadership, commercial, operations and engineering management. He has more than 20 yers experience in the medical device industry and 30 years of operations experience. He was appointed president of Integer’s Advanced Surgical and Orthopedics business in 2015 and was responsible for leading the integration of four business categories. In his new role with Viant, he will be responsible for driving growth for the Advanced Surgical and Orthopedics business while supporting integration efforts.
