Press makers Wabash MPI and Carver, Inc. are touting their new laboratory for customer testing of LIM, compression molding and other applications.
The lab is for application testing and development to determine press specifications.
Presses available for testing include 2 Microlim machines with Graco #622 meter mix; a 30-ton Genesis compression press with proportional control of pressure and temperature; a Carver 30-ton Auto Series Press; a Carver 12 ton Model C, heated and cooled; and a 5 ton Sterling Chiller.

Other recent news includes Carver promoting automatic hydraulic laboratory presses featuring a large 7-in. color operator interface, enhanced platen temperature control and auto-tuning, ramp heating capability, real-time trending of force and temperature and a 7-day timer for auto heat-up. Capabilities also include storage of up to 250 recipes, recipe preview and optional data logging for cycle parameters. 15 to 48 tons of clamping force and 6-in.-by-6-in. to 19-in.-by-19-in. platens.
