The first device in a new technology category of ultrasound bio-electronics, sam, the world’s only multi-hour wearable device for pain relief and accelerated healing, was FDA-cleared and CE-marked earlier this year and is now available for daily use in primary care. This new weapon in the fight against arthritis and back pain has enjoyed a full slate of recent news developments including:
- Successful clinical trials supported by the National Institutes of Health for treating knee arthritis, upper back and tendonitis pain
- Current testing by the National Space Biomedical Research Institute for use on astronauts – on the ground and in space
- Positive results with elite Olympic athletes, including tri-athlete Sarah Crane and runner Diane Stokes
The international launch at Medica will provide hospitals and medical device distributors the opportunity to demo and purchase sam as well as meet with the bio-medical scientist behind the technology, ZetrOZ inventor and Chief Scientific Officer George K. Lewis, Ph.D.
“sam brings ‘first-line’ therapy to acute pain sufferers before that pain becomes chronic,” said Dr. Lewis, “We are working to manage pain and resolve medical conditions for the 1.5 billion sufferers worldwide by introducing doctors, physical therapists, and hospitals to sustained acoustic medicine.”
Since its US introduction earlier this year, sam has been adopted by physiotherapists, athletic trainers, sports medicine specialists, and orthopedists who have documented measurable improvement in mobility, range of motion and overall health outcomes with a wide spectrum of patients.
Added Eng Eng Joo, president of United BMEC , “Having worked with ZetrOZ since 2009, we are proud to have been an early supporter of this cutting edge technology and to be collaborating in introducing bio-innovative pain technology to the world.”
In addition to Dr. Lewis, members of ZetrOZ scientific, sales, and operations teams will demonstrate sam November 12th-15th at Hall 16 -United BMEC , booth No. 16E55
