2013 ESP Award Nominee
The Wrong Site Sleeve from Patient Safety Gear can be placed on the arm or leg. It is designed to protect against wrong site surgery. After marking the surgical site pre-operatively with a skin marker, the wrong site sleeve is placed on the patient’s “wrong limb” to avoid any mistakes once the patient is taken to the operating room. The safety sleeve’s fluorescent orange color alerts medical staff once again that “this is the wrong limb for surgery.” Even though a surgical timeout is required prior to the start of surgery, wrong site surgery still continues to be a problem nationwide. The Wrong Site Sleeve can be added to your hospital’s existing policy for extra assurance and protection.
